Masthead
I chose to name my masthead 'Quo', it's a short name. I chose it to be 'Quo', therefore it consists of 3 letters as NME. My original idea was to stick to the name 'Beats', however I changed it as I wanted to have a different name that linked to NME.
I chose to experiment with the masthead 'Quo'. My genre is to do Rock and Roll, therefore my title will be black and white as Rock has black and white color scales.
I experimented on Photoshop with different fonts.
However I chose to change the genre of my music style to pop, as a black magazine cover would not look good, therefore I chose to do pop as it allows bright colors such as pink and yellows.
Despite experimenting with various fonts, I chose to keep my title as 'Swag', I kept changing the name of my title, this allowed me to think of the mise en scene for my magazine. I changed my idea from a 3 lettered title to a 4 letter title, however, I kept the color of the title as red, to fit the chosen colors - red,black and white as NME uses 3 colors.
For my music magazine cover
For my music magazine cover, I chose to keep my headline as 'swag', I initially thought of keeping the name as 'Quo', however it sounded rough and didn't fit the mise en scene I wanted, as I kept my music magazines mise en scene of a young girl wearing a checked shirt, proving to be a country girl who holds a guitar. The guitar and the shirt contrast, therefore the mise en scene should have had more thought on, however I wanted it to be different, so I didn't want it to look entirely country side.
I made a blue and red title, as the girls picture I took, she wore a blue and red checked shirt, therefore I made the masthead blue and red.
Black, white and red - were colors I chose to include in my magazine, contents and dps, therefore I used these colors.
